Villa Nova releases an artistic ‘Still Life’ collection

This change of lifestyle sees people devoting more time to crafting, upcycling furniture and curating spaces to boost their wellbeing.   It is with this change that Villa Nova’s Still Life collections embrace the idea of pausing for reflection and capturing a moment in time.  

The Still Life collections are influenced by the Still Life art movement, however the influence runs deeper and the term still life has also been taken literally to mean slowing down and capturing the still moments of life. 

The designs are inspired by the team immersing themselves in nature and taking time to sketch, contemplate and create. 

Five main colour areas that are new for 2021. These groups are inspired by the seasons and the great outdoors: Spring, Sunset, Sunshine, Autumn and Haze:

Spring – Softened green and khakis sit with nude pinks and hints of peachy tones.

Autumn – Shades of autumn leaves, rich terracotta’s and burnt oranges mix with dusky shades of blue and earthy charcoals.

Haze – A charming combination of hazy, soft greens, refreshing teals and floral inspired pinks bring a flush of warm colour. 

Sunshine – Bringing back the radiance of warm long sunny days, shades of sunshine yellows and satisfying ochres sit with soften blues and muted greens.

Sunset – Glowing shades of warm red are balanced by sophisticated neutral tones and the palest of plaster pinks.

The Still Life collection captures the beauty of everyday objects with a sharpened appreciation of the home, this philosophy is centred around a need for the home to bring joy, contentment and clarity of thought. Still Life is influenced by objects and foliage found in a kitchen garden recreated as painterly forms and sketches.  Expressive designs are balanced by entwining vines and leaves, intriguing feathery fringing and hand stitching.  The Still Life colour palette has a calmness and a nostalgic charm that breathes warmth and contentment into its design.

Still Life wallcoverings are a charming and unassuming collection of non-woven wallcoverings that have a home-grown artistic feel, inspired by found objects and rambling foliage. Larger-than-life brush strokes and looping pencil sketches add a hand-crafted appeal to the collection whilst simple, yet effective textured surfaces bring tactile interest to the designs. This stylised range is presented in homely, easy to use shades with alluring hints of lustre that add an element of modernity.
