Sarah Fox, our Melbourne-based International Brands Manager, shares the prevalent colours and textures seen in the showrooms of local and international brands during Sydney's Saturday InDesign.

 

Warm pigments & suede textures

Throughout the showrooms there was an abundance of warm umbers, tangerine, copper and rust. Suede textures are coming back – I’ve been saying it for ages, so it’s good to see proof in the flesh!

Yellow & chrome

Yellows were everywhere, in shades ranging from sunshine to ice cream, lemon, acid, mustard, gold and, in many cases, featured on designers’ key furniture pieces. Also, in case you missed the memo, chrome is back.

Happy colours

In addition to yellow, visually optimistic colours including the pops of Yves Klein blue that almost always feature at Milan Design Week are now being seen here alongside pops of clean, bright red.
