In the far corner of a revitalised warehouse in Inner Sydney, interior design firm Chenchow Little continue to explode conservative notions of what a commercial office should be. Theatrical, sumptuous, functional, and sympathetic to budget and heritage restrictions, BresicWhitney Rosebery is the brand’s most ambitious yet.
When Shannan Whitney first approached the practice, their limited commercial experience was exactly what he was looking for. As project lead Joshua Mulford explains, “He wanted, a fresh different take on the office, to bring in the level of detailing and craft we would normally apply to a house. What he really didn’t want was a duplicable and repeated brand interior.”
Chenchow Little’s response has been to create a stage-like setting of velvet curtains forming pods which Mulford says, “float like jellyfish through the space.” Arranged to create a wave of negative space across the floor; the pods guide circulation and movement whilst drawing visitors toward the central reception area.
