Broadline, the essential lining for your curtains

While creative, these busy Christchurch-based business owners knew they needed an element of interior design expertise to transform their Somerfield bungalow into the perfect home for themselves, their two young boys, and pet dog.

The couple engaged Anna Dick of Anna Margaret Interiors to weave industrial chic throughout the space, creating a fresh open-plan home that reflects their personalities whilst offering a timeless décor for a growing family.

“The input I was able to provide gave them the freedom and space to make the decisions without feeling overwhelmed,” says Anna.

Inspiration for the family’s living and entertaining spaces started with the beech timber floors which offered warmth and inherent pattern to the newly created spaces. A light colour palette has been applied to the large walls and panelled ceiling that is contrasted by a slate grey feature wall.

“I wanted to balance this contrast with the drapes that dominate a lot of the space, so filled the colour scale from light to dark with this choice”

To soften the large spaces, window treatments that are both theatrical – reaching 3.6m high in the main living room – as well as suitable for the modest 2.4m stud of the connected the dining space were specified.

Floaty, open weave curtains lined with Broadline FR by James Dunlop maintain the soft drape and handle of the face fabric while offering a contrast in colour. Broadline is a high quality 100% polyester dimout lining in a wide width that is ideal for living spaces.
