How design can shape life?

Design UnWind | Melbourne Design Week 2020
The highly anticipated Melbourne Design Week (MDW) in March 2020 is a 10-day event held in the prestigious National Gallery of Victoria and at various locations around Melbourne. MDW offers design enthusiasts over 300 talks, exhibitions, tours, and workshops centred around the question: ‘how design can shape life?’

As part of MDW, James Dunlop Textiles was invited to contribute to a pop up installation by Australian furniture designer Arthur G in collaboration with innovative designer brands Tsar Carpets and Byzantine Design, hosted at the Tsar Carpets showroom.
The 'Design UnWind’ installation offers guests a peaceful reprieve from modern life through the application of mood enhancing design principles. We took the opportunity to showcase one of our international brands, Designs of the Time, whose highly tactile and sensory upholstery textiles feature throughout the installation.

Fuego by Designs of the Time
The Fuego collection by Designs of the Time takes inspiration from South America, where rich materials are combined with artisanal processes and the quintessential colour palette of soft neutrals and spicy hues of red, green, blue and yellow.
Blends of linen and sustainable hemp are complimented by rougher, more densely woven qualities, while innovative additions of pure virgin wool and luxurious velvet embody the soft hearted, untouched character of the elements. Fuego is diverse, with plenty of choices for minimalists and lovers of bold accents alike.
