As architects of objects, Resident’s interpretation of value begins with craftsmanship. Carefully considered details push the limits of materials with inspiration taken by the elemental forms found in nature. 

Each design is a living representation of the time and application of skills involved in making an object functional and beautiful. 

Influenced by the New Zealand lifestyle, Resident offers products that are made for people to enjoy every day in a variety of ways, with an ethos that reflects our heritage. Coming from an isolated island nation, the designers have learned to take to a resourceful approach, doing more with less and making inspirational design widely accessible. 

Products are conceived in New Zealand, then executed through a world of design that extends from a specialist lighting production team in Auckland, to the world’s finest timber joiners in Lithuania, and boutique upholstery workshops in London, Los Angeles and Melbourne. 

Pairing conceptual innovations with an appreciation for sensory pleasure and the occasional wry twist, each piece from Resident adds quiet refinement to contemporary environments.  

Resident’s mission is to offer products with an unparalleled level of creativity and innovation. The team hope to make an impact in the USA by amplifying the design community with unique furniture and lighting choices.
