The future of fabric is digital

Our annual 69 O’Riordan Collective celebration

Last week we hosted the third annual 69 O’Riordan Collective event, opening our showrooms to the public for one exclusive evening of design. As Sydney's premier destination for contemporary lighting, fabrics, tiles, furniture, custom joinery, blinds, and more, our spaces saw a gathering of new and old industry connections.

Guests explored the digital future of textiles whilst enjoying futuristic florals, fresh pasta cooked and served alfresco by The Italian Job, and a selection of Buller Wines.

Glyph Augmented Reality

At our first station guests were invited to experience digital fabrics in a true-to-life visual experience like never before.

Specifically designed for mobile and iPad devices, Glyph technology brought our digital textures to life in real time with the realistic shadows, light reflections, and perfect colour accuracy of cutting-edge augmented reality technology.

Utilising ‘mapping dots’ Glyph’s Augmented Reality (AR) tool bridges the gap between digital and reality by enabling guests to preview a selection of fabrics including La Palma and Royal Peacock on our Glyph surfaces.

Furniture Visualiser

Next, guests explored our revolutionary Furniture Visualiser, including pieces from Adam Goodrum’s Voom collection for Tait Design, on an LG StanByME portable screen.

Our Furniture Visualiser offers endless opportunities to customise the fabrics and colours of realistic digital furniture models. This tool takes the interior design and textiles industries to the forefront of a groundbreaking revolution by enhancing designer’s and architect’s ability to prototype and refine spaces, turning concepts into beautifully realized interiors.

Kirkby Design

Kirkby Design’s fantastical videos were created in collaboration with 3D artist Riccardo Fornoni.

Italian architect, artist, and founder of Creamtelier, a global art and design studio, Riccardo creates scenography and landscapes for brands and galleries. His works have been showcased and published in exhibitions in Paris, Tokyo, Beijing, and Milan.

Kirkby’s collaboration focuses on interior surrealism. Intricate digital textures are depicted in surreal digital habitats, working to tell the brand’s evolving sustainability story and illustrate the Graphic Nature collection.
