Over the past century, James Dunlop Textiles have nurtured an enduring curiosity for how people live on and around their interior furnishings, culminating in a curated range of drapery, upholstery, and wallpapers in the finest quality constructions and extensive colour palettes.

Club Tropicalia | Mokum
Original textile designs from house brands James Dunlop and Mokum find inspiration in international trends and their relaxed Antipodean lifestyle. The brands delight and inspire designers with luxurious textiles and a penchant for creating bold, colourful designs which complement their comprehensive ranges of textures and plains.
As New Zealanders they are inherently aware of their landscape and location. The bright light, diffused colours, forms, and textures are translated into colourways and tactile elements, while their relative isolation from the world informs an ingenuity and desire to forge their own path with independent design solutions.
It’s this unique colour palette which differentiates their products in the US market, providing opportunities for designers to inject a sense of relaxed luxury into their schemes through colours and patterns. Visitors to the Design Pavilion will experience the influence this unusually bright light has on colours in this part of the world.
James Dunlop and Mokum have enjoyed 12 years of trading in the USA. North America is now their third largest market and it has proved to be a location where their unique design lens and colour palettes provide a strong point of difference.
James Dunlop Textiles are excited to participate in the first exhibition of iconic New Zealand interior design brands in the USA. “Being in San Francisco is an opportunity to learn what is important to the architectural and design community in their diverse region with its own rich history and dynamic future,” says Annie Moir, Design Director of James Dunlop.
Design Directors from James Dunlop and Mokum will be in attendance in San Francisco, discussing how they interpret trends in Australasia. Interested in seeing more?
