Innovation is widely considered to be ingrained in the psyche of New Zealanders. We pride ourselves on our forward-thinking nature and problem-solving abilities, and the field of industrial design is no exception.
After two years spent looking inwards, the appreciation of attractive, engaging, people-centric spaces has blossomed and designing for comfort, safety, and happiness seems to be a lasting concern.

Architectural attitudes toward commercial spaces have drastically shifted in favour of reducing the density of occupants, improving air quality and circulation, and enhancing tangible connections to nature. To realise these new ideas, architects and specifiers require innovative materials from trusted suppliers who share their vision for the design of tomorrow, and that is where we come in.
James Dunlop Textiles are taking New Zealand design to the world in collaboration with five independent furniture, lighting, and textile businesses who are challenging the public perception of what a ‘space’ should mean and offer.

San Francisco's SHACK15 is a dedicated space for sharing entrepreneurial ideas which will house the New Zealand Design Pavilion from the 20th of June to the 1st of July 2022.
Presented within the pavilion are three distinct installations embodying our uniquely Antipodean perspective and connection to the natural world: Alpine, Coastal, and Rainforest. Each space is furnished with products that engage the senses and marry the functional with the beautiful, designed by Citta, Noho, Resident, Nodi, David Trubridge, and James Dunlop Textiles.
Our curated offering of distinctive, commercially available design marks the first independent exhibition of international homewares since the pandemic began, and the most comprehensive of its kind in the United States. During these two weeks we invite members of both the public and the trade to be personally hosted by each brands’ founders and design principals in this relaxed setting.
As a design coalition we are accompanying our guests on a sensory journey through our backyard and sharing our belief that great design must be approachable, inspiring, dynamic, and sustainable.
